Our FIRST match of 2007!!!

dearest team,

first and foremost, well done.
i am extremely proud of you.
and i am even prouder to be the captain of such a unique team - we really have come a looong way.
we have finally broken the curse of the blue jersey, and in style.

4-0 was a fair score and a good reflection of the game.
they had less than 3-4 shots on target and we were dominating possession and the pace of the game.
i'm also delighted we kept the clean sheet because it shows our defence's great job today.
well done to jacob for getting 2 excellent goals, clement for winning and converting the penalty and david for capping off a midfield general display with your goal. well done also to the players who have created the goals.
congrats to kenneth ferdinand for unanimously winning the man-of-the-match award.

it was good to see leonard make his outfield debut at right back and yong kia in centre midfield, myint and weiliang for sacrificing their preferred positions for the team, tommy for inspiring confidence from the back, davin and clement for being back in the team, jacob for proving that's he's not just good with the ball, he's also good in getting into key positions, sam and jem for having good touches, lester for running himself ragged and henry for excelling in his RB position. let's also be praying that cornelius will recover soon from his knee injury.

as for me, i am delighted to be back in the team.
this match couldn't have gone better.

i look forward to the game this sunday against faith assembly.

win, lose or draw, we have emerged victorious as a team.

i look forward to leading the team out again.
i will always be grateful for this team. 8 great years. and another one this year.

we have started the year well.
let's put our best foot forward (pun intended) for the upcoming games.

as I told some of the leaders present today, I am opening this account to all the leaders.
Namely: myself, Lester, Whei Jie, Kenneth, Jeremy Ng, Eugene Ang, David and Myint. Of cus, Joey too.
(i have sent u all the email with the "confidential" userid and password.... hhahahaha.... so check ur mails)

So anyway, 9 of us in total.

Basically, some HOUSE-RULES, u can post things on this blog. There are no limits to what u can post, but as leaders and mature adults, pls blog responsibly. I know you all can! =)

For starters, just some suggestions…. can post team or soccer related and appropriate things… or as leaders, u can share good things happening to u the past week? u know lah…. Haha.. =)

for now, can JOEY pls post the post-match info, like scorers, team sheet, sub… etc… we talked about before those…. This is to prevent several posts going up together.

Of cus, if someone wants to be our official “post-match news” blogger, pls inform and liaise with Joey, I am sure he appreciates this.

Lastly, I also wish to encourage the ALL LEADERS to blog about their group members, funny happenings and mostly anything under the sun about them? =)

The time we spend together on the pitch is really limited. And it is Joey’s as well as many others’ dream for the team to be “more” than a football team. Be a support group for one another, young and old. And so I hope thru this blog, it may be the first step and help us know a little bit more about the guys we are playing with, week-in, week-out.
